============== CDCLUU v1.0 ===============
CDCOM Log reader Userinfo Updater
Written by Paul Berry

===============================================================================
CDCLUU was written to support the CDCOM CD-ROM Door program written by
Mr. Eric Shonning. CDCLUU was written to support Wildcat 3.0X ONLY and
will not work with any other BBS Software at this time. CDCLUU is not
freeware and requires a modest registration fee of $10.00. Fill out
CDCLUU.FRM and return it to me to register CDCLUU.
===============================================================================
WHAT IT DOES:
CDCLUU will read the CDCOM log file, it will extract the names of the files
that were downloaded from the CD-ROM disk, place an entry into your
ACTIVITY.00X file, and it will keep count of the number of downloads there
were and update the user database of Wildcat of the number of downloads each
caller made while in CDCOM. At this time CDCLUU will only add the number
of downloads into the WC database. It does NOT add the download K for each
file downloaded. This is due to the way that CDCOM was written, and in the
next release, I plan to fix that problem. CDCLUU will delete the log file
that CDCOM creates and write another (ie. CDCOM1.LOG would be deleted and
then be written as CDCOM1!.LOG). This is done because CDCLUU does not
recognize specific users, and will add all downloads into the WC30 database
each time it reads the log. When a caller access CDCOM, CDCLUU will read from
a fresh log and only extract the present callers downloads. CDCLUU will
append that callers activity onto the end of the existing CDCOM1.LOG, or will
create one if it does not exist.

*** Note!
Even though CDCLUU will place an entry into the ACTIVITY.00X file, I have
noticed that WCPRO will NOT recognize the individual file names downloaded
from the CDROM disk. It will keep an accurate count of the total number of
downloads it just won't list the names of the files that were downloaded.
I think this is because - if you are running CDCOM, you probably are like
me and do not have the 2804 disks of the PCSIG Library entered into the
Wildcat File Database. WCPRO apparently looks to the file database to get
the names of the files that were downloaded that day. Since I use the PRO
series I am not sure how a generic log reader will act with the entries
that are appended by CDCLUU. Since those entries are in the EXACT same
format that Wildcat uses, then there should be no problems with generic
log readers. If there are any problems - pleases let me know, and I will
fix them.
I run 3 CD-ROM disks on my system, including the PC-SIG 10th edition disk,
the Alpha & Omega CD, and the Shareware Carousel CD. CDCLUU will support
any Shareware disk that the CDCOM CDROM Door program supports.
Registered users of CDCLUU can always download the latest version of CDCLUU
from the Dragon's Lair BBS at no additional cost. I will offer tech.
assistance to registered users via the Dragon's Lair BBS as well.
If CDCLUU does not do something you want it to - let me know and I will see
if I can get CDCLUU to do it.
Hope you like running CDCLUU!!
